According to a recent report by Arieso, who recently conducted a study in Europe of smartphone users, owners of Apple?s iPhone 5 are downloading more data than other smartphone users.
The report says that owners of Apple?s iPhone 5 are the ?hungriest? data consumers using 50 percent more data than owners of Apple?s iPhone 4S and four times as much as owners of iPhone 3G users.
?This is pretty counterintuitive, but it seems the capabilities of the newest smartphones ? not tablets ? are unleashing even greater user demand,? Arieso CTO Michael Flanagan said in a statement. ?Regardless of device type and operating system, there is very little variation in the usage ?signature? between smartphone users and between tablet users. From this we discover that voice-capable ?phablets? ? like the Samsung Galaxy Note II ? are currently being used like smartphones, not tablets.?
Owners of Samsung?s Galaxy S III are uploading more data than any other smartphone, this is then followed by the Samsung Galaxy Note II and in third place for the amount of data uploaded is Apple?s iPhone 5.
It would appear from the report that smartphone users consume considerably more data than tablet users, out of the top ten devices for data consumed 6 were smartphones 3 were tablets and one devices was a phablet.
